Muslim Day at the Capitol (MDAC) 2020

The 16th Muslim Day at the Capitol (MDAC) is on Monday, April 20th , 2020.

You can help convey the concerns and needs of the Muslim community to our legislators.

Muslim Day at the Capitol consists of the following components:

Group Leader Training 8:00 AM Conference Room 316, 3rd Floor, State Capitol
Welcome Session 8:30 AM State Capitol Rotunda
Group Rally 9:00 AM State Capitol Rotunda
Agenda Grounding 10:00 AM State Capitol Rotunda
Group Photo 10:15 AM State Capitol Rotunda
Group Appointments 10:45 AM State Capitol Rotunda

Event Outline:

  1. Group Leader Training is provided for participants on how to lead their groups and lobby legislators for your concerns. The training is scheduled to start at 8:00 am in Conference Room 316, 3rd Floor, State Capitol.
  2. All other attendees are invited to the welcome session at the State Capitol Rotunda at 8:30 am.
  3. A rally is held at 09:00 am at the State Capitol Rotunda. All participants gather to hear elected leadership and community leaders speak to the Muslim community.
  4. A group photo is held at the state capitol at 10 am. We encourage everyone to attend the photo session.
  5. Group training is held at 10:20 am at the State Capitol Rotunda.
  6. Attendees go in small groups to meet with legislators and speak to them about Muslim concerns. We are making appointments on behalf of attendees as of now. Please check with your group leaders on your district appointments.

Join your Muslim neighbors – doctors, engineers, business professionals, senior citizens, high school students,college students, stay at home parents and many others – to show the strength and diversity of the Muslim community in Minnesota. Participants in the MDAC will have an opportunity to meet State Legislators to discuss issues relating to education, immigration, healthcare, and civil rights and help bring about positive social change. It is very important for the Muslim community to interact with our legislators and be positive participating citizens in the larger community.
